Mexico, with its 106,4 million people, is the most populated Spanish speaking country in the world, and the most populated country in Latin America, after Brazil. The country has the second biggest economy in Latin America and the 12th biggest world economy, with a GNP of US$ 753.394 billion (US$ 7,000 per capita).
Mexico's economy is based on commerce, industry, agriculture, and mineral exploration. Its agricultural expansion and cattle raising (30 million cattle) had an enormous impact on the country's forests that, during 1981-90, disappeared at a 6,8% rate each year. Their main commercial partners are the EUA, Spain, Germany, Canada, and Japan. From all of the products imported by Mexico, Brazil is the 6th, with 5.5 million US$. 85% of these imports are cars, machines, and iron.
Mexico is number 53 on the United Nation's human development index and, politically, the country has been through a delicate moment during the elections, however, this impact did not effect its economy.
It was established in 1930 as a patronal union of legal entity. Nowadays, there are approximately 1,830 associates from different sectors and segments and counts with, besides their headquarters, 2 branches located in strategic cities.
